Lessons I Learned as a IST Student at UWM

As an IST (Information Science and Technology) student at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, I learned a lot about the rapidly evolving field of technology and its impact on society. Here are some of the key lessons I learned during my time at UWM:

  1. Technology is constantly changing: One of the most important things I learned is that technology is always evolving, and as a result, so are the skills required to work in the field. Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends is essential to success.
  2. Ethics and privacy are important considerations: As technology continues to evolve, it’s important to consider the ethical implications of new developments. Privacy concerns are also becoming increasingly important, and as an IST professional, it’s important to consider the impact of technology on personal privacy.
  3. Finding answers by one’s self: Professors may not directly say it, but look for help outside of school. While they are there to help and guide, an important skill to posses is knowing what research to conduct when there is no one available to help you or guide you.
